Back in the Halls?

As I prepare to teach yoga in person again and inching forward to some sort of normal, I can sense a bit of excitement and anticipation (butterflies in the stomach?!).  I hope to see many of you in person once again!

I have had my second vaccine last week and feel a bit more prepared.  Safety for all is important at all times, but even more so in this pandemic – and as we are seeing in India, there is no place for complacency.   


I won’t hide - it has been a challenge to find venues with adequate space to allow the social distancing required as well as ventilation and the one-way system.   With this in mind, there are inevitably some changes on where, when and how we will practice yoga in person – at least for the time being. 

So here we go – below are the details of the In-the-Hall yoga sessions and timings.  There will be protocols in place to ensure compliance with the government, venue and insurance guidelines and regulations.  


The COVID-guidelines applicable to my classes can be found HERE; please familiarise yourself with them if you intend to attend the yoga classes at a venue.  They give you information about equipment, mask wearing, mats placements, etc.

From Monday 17 May, we expect restrictions about indoor classes to be relaxed.  This is subject to confirmation from government, Sports England and insurance. 


If this will be confirmed:

·         Gentle Yoga In-the-Hall will be at Banstead Methodist Church, The Dr, Banstead SM7 1DA on Tuesdays(*) at 9.30am and from June, on Fridays too at 12noon

·         Yoga Stretch & Relax NEW CLASS will start in Carshalton Scouts Hall, 30 Ruskin Road, Carshalton, on Thursdays at 7pm.

These In the Hall yoga classes are in addition to the Online Yoga classes:


  • Yoga Flow of Mondays, at 6:45pm

  • Gentle Yoga of Fridays, at 10am

These will stay for the time being on Zoom for those who prefer to practice from home.  There will be Online Yoga Nidra on the first and third Wednesday during May.  As a reminder, minimum of 4 attendees required for these classes.

(*) I am on a 5-day Yin Yoga course at the end May – I will confirm if Tuesday Gentle on 25 May will go ahead.  If it does not, those wishing to buy a pass, please do contact me.


How do I book in-the-Hall yoga session?

Instructions on how to book online

Venues want to know how capacity will be managed.  Therefore, in order for me to manage the reduced capacity in the Hall, you must book your space online at

  • All In-the Hall classes can be booked online from Sunday 9 May

  • For the time being, no online payment facility will be available; bookings are to be paid by BACS

  • No Drops-in will be allowed, until further notice

  • Bookings will close the day before the class

  • Please see the revised Cancellation and Transfer policy (please see details below) that will be strictly applied

  • For In-the-Hall classes, a waiting list will operate if necessary.  So it is important - if you need to cancel or transfer your booking, please free up your space within the required time.

To use the Online Booking system:

  • go to the HOME screen on

  • At top right hand side, above the Line there is  Log In/SIGN UP button (I will need to approve any request, so please be patient)

  • Once approved, you will be able to Log In with your chosen password

  • The menu is at the top of the HOME screen - select Book Online.  This will take you to the list of classes available.

  • Select the Class you want to book by clicking on the button BOOK NOW.  This will take you to a Schedule on line screen.

  • Select the date you want to book and then click on the NEXT button

  • Add your information - up to 2 people can be booked, include your message if you want.  You will be taken to another screen of Payment Info (no payment required online)

  • and then click on the button BOOK IT.  A screen will confirm that you are booked, the date of the session, time, duration and you can add it to your Google calendar.

An email confirmation will also be sent to you automatically.

Class fees & Passes

From May, the following fees will apply - For some classes passes are available:


60 minutes class - Yoga in-the-Hall

  • Individual session £7.50

  • Monthly 2 sessions (60 mins) class pass £13

  • Monthly 3 sessions (60 mins) class pass £20

  • Monthly 4 sessions (60 mins) class pass £25 

  • Monthly 5 sessions (60 mins) class pass £30 – this is given as a guide where applicable

60 minutes Online yoga session £4.50 (please note that this will increase to £5 from 17 May)


75 minutes class - Yoga in-the-Hall

  • Individual session £9

  • Monthly 2 sessions (75 mins) class pass £16

  • Monthly 3 sessions (75 mins) class pass £23

  • Monthly 4 sessions (75 mins) class pass £30

  • Monthly 5 sessions (75 mins) class pass £37 - this is given as a guide where applicable


75 minutes Online yoga session £6

Class Passes are per person.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy

Cancellation and Transfer Policies: The following apply to all GROUP classes, paid online, by BACS or bank transfer, by cheque or prepaid. 

Group In-The-Hall sessions: Numbers of participants will be limited.  To manage the number of participants and comply with social distancing, booking is required, 1 day prior to class at the latest.  No drop ins will be allowed until further notice | Monthly passes to be purchased before your first class and must be used within the same calendar month. With passes, a discount has been applied - No refunds or carry forward for unused sessions. |To book your space, please book your selected dates through the online booking system - no online payment required - Payment by BACS preferred (I will send the details by email) | Cancellations or transfers: 24 hour notice is required.  The request will only be processed if the cancellation is received 24 hours before the start time. | Transfer of booking within the same month between classes of the same duration will be permitted. | Upgrades of passes during the month will be allowed (so if you purchase say a monthly 2 sessions pass you can upgrade to a 3 or 4 monthly pass, paying the difference in the monthly subscription).

GROUP ONLINE classes: You can transfer a booking to another date up to 4 hours of the start of the class. No refunds will be made if you miss the class and you have not informed me at least 4 hours prior to the start of the class.  When recordings are made available to you and you have not attended the class, no refund will be given.  

Workshops, Special Events (Restorative) or Masterclasses: at least 72 hours notice is required should you wish to cancel.

... a final word

As some of you are aware, I have taken the opportunity of lockdowns to further studies and be able to offer more, from Pilates to Health Coaching to Yin Yoga.  Once these are all over, I have promised myself that I will not sit an exam, do any assessment or subject myself to agonising hours desk-bound on the books!  Now, that's a challenge!
