Aligning With Yourself

Duration of session: 45 minutes

You cannot sit on the mat? No problem we have Yoga based around the chair - an activity designed to cater for the needs of the older people with conditions such as osteoarthritis, hypertension, diabetes, etc. and to enable them to exercise yoga safely, on the chair.


You will learn basic yoga postures and you will be taught short sequences of movements, helping you to develop greater awareness of body and breath, and how to work with your body efficiently and gently.   


Each week, the exercise group class will be focused on a balanced combination of movements and breath, with special attention to alignment and posture. You will practice mainly on the chair with the opportunity to do a few standing postures with the support of the chair, if appropriate for you.  You will be encouraged to work at your pace. Options and modifications will be offered to address individual needs.


At the end of each class there will be an opportunity to ask questions and interact with other participants.
