A Little More About Me

lavander portrait_small.jpg

I started practising yoga in 1995 and over the years I practised yoga with many teachers, each had with a different style.  I am passionate about making yoga accessible and affordable for  everybody, whatever people's age, gender, race, size or level of bendiness, it just doesn't matter. And I am hoping to pass onto them not just the benefits but also a passion for Yoga!

I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga because I wanted a robust foundation to teach yoga to a variety of people.  The training is rigorous and thorough; it included anatomy and physiology (A&P) and in recognition that the body changes over the different stages of life, I undertook 1 A&P to teach general classes, gentle years and kids yoga.

I am a qualified BWY teacher, holder of BWYQ Level 4 Dip (500 hours) in teaching yoga, qualified to teach yoga to children after training with Christianne Kerr of Calm for Kids and certified BWY Gentle Years Yoga teacher.

I hold a 30 hrs Yoga Alliance Certificate to teach Yoga Nidra, a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health. and OCNLR Level 1 Award in understanding the effects of Sleep on Health.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, a safeguarding children certificate, and a first aid certificate.

During the pandemic I am taking the opportunity to further my training in Pilates and as a Health Coach.  No rest for the wicked..

My background is completely different - I have spent many stressful years working in the financial and insurance services, and yoga helped me get through.  Transformation and changes do not happen overnight.  My life has changed and it is continuously changing, as I think I will be forever a student.

Nowadays, I am teaching yoga to a variety of people, with different abilities and conditions, and from different walks of life. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

For the rest, I have a passion for photography, painting and glasswork and I just love to create and make things - even homemade blackberries jam and marmalade!🙌

Walking our black Labrador, Max, has made me appreciate nature and the local parks & greens. Oh! and of course, I love chocolate !😄😄
