I started practising yoga in 2002. One of my passions, yoga is more than a physical stretch for me. It provides 'time out', time for myself, time to reflect and learn.
I have practised yoga with many yoga teachers, amongst them George Phillips, Dawn Mason, Rebecca Burton - each teacher has a different style. Each has and continues to give me special and unique guidance and teaching.
Two years ago, I signed up to a L1-Foundation Course with Claire Gibson (British Wheel of Yoga). My friend and yoga teacher, Sue Turner, had suggested it during my frequent visits to Cornwall . It was the start of a journey and the light at the end of the tunnel. I am now doing a L4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga with Lisa Soede (BWY).
At the same time, I reflected how yoga could be beneficial not just to adults, so I undertook and completed a course to teach yoga to children with Christiane Kerr of Calm for Kids. I had the most enjoyable fun during my half hour practical assessment with the nursery kids!
I hold a DBS certificate, a safeguarding children certificate, a certificate to teach yoga to children and teens, and a first aid certificate.
My background is completely different - I have spent many years in the financial and insurance services, part as a paralegal and part as a company secretary , most of my posts have been stressful. Yoga has been my shield and oasis for many years - it is time to follow my passions. My life has changed and it is continuously changing, as studying and practising yoga blend together, I am looking forward to teaching yoga and pass on the benefits to others.
